About Us
It all started with a liquor store some time in the past. When I asked my liquor manager to assemble a comprehensive lineup of bitters for our stores, I of course tried them all. I was immediately shocked that all of the bitters assembled seemed to fall into one of two categories:
There were the big factory produced bitters, like Peychaud's, Reagan's Orange and Angostura. What they all had in common is that they were god awful. Then there was the second category: These were craft bitters from around the country, many in expensive, gimmicky boxes, etc. What they had in common was that they seemed to all be a rip-off. (Technically speaking, there was a third category: The ones that were both a rip-off and awful.)
Having come from the beverage production industry, I knew there had to be a way to make zero compromise, amazing bitters from the best ingredients, and still sell them for a fair price. After countless trials and errors, and hundreds of hours to figure out the best sourcing for ingredients and packaging, I think we may have achieved this.
No, you're not going to get a fancy tin box or anything, but you are going to get the best bitters anyone can make, for a fair price. From my decades in the beverage industry, I knew that the only way to really achieve that is to go direct-to-consumer. If we have to sell our bitters to a distributor, who when sells them to a supermarket, who then sells them to you, they are either going to be twice as expensive or we'd have to cut corners, which we will never do.
I take great joy in the pleasure our products are bringing to mixologists everywhere, and I also love to hear about any great recipes or other uses you have come up with. We are constantly working on new recipes and I look forward to sharing new and seasonal bitters with you, soon.
Cheers to you, and thank you for supporting a small, family-owned, progressive business.
